I chose to entitle this blog update Day Two, because it is day two of chemotherapy. Yesterday I received treatments at approximately 6:30 pm and finished at 7:30. The treatments last about an hour, and are given through an IV. I do not notice that I am receiving the medicine because when I am not getting the medicine I receive IV fluids. The nurses have told me to expect some of the side effects to kick in anywhere from a couple of hours after my first treatment to a couple of days after my first treatment. So far, I have not had any side effects other than feeling slightly nauseous before bed last night, but nothing too major. Praying the side effects do not come and if they do I pray they come lightly. I love the nurses here. Everyone is sweet and kind to me, taking the time to remember me and being patient with me. I miss my brother and sister at home, but nobody tell them that! I have made a new friend today, her name is Jaime. She is also 17 and in the cancer wing as well. I really do not have much to talk about, because I slept a majority of the day. I would like to suggest that you check out my friend, Luke Reeder’s new blog: lucascraigblog.com Luke is one of my great friends who has recently decided to begin blogging as well. Hopefully I will feel like blogging again tomorrow. Please continue to keep not only myself, but the nurses, doctors and my family in your prayers.
love

As I read your post I wondered if that friend named Jamie happens to be Hispanic. My co-worker’s daughter is receiving chemo and radiation and is named Jamie. If it is her that is such an amazing coincidence! I hope both of you do well. I know each of you have many, many people praying for you!
