I have had this post on my mind for a while now, and when my original content for today fell through (twice!) I decided to finally share this.
I know that it can be so easy to only talk to God when you need something. When times are tough and you need a miracle. I have come a long way in my relationship with God and I do not just pray for mircales anymore, but I am not focused on praying for the small things like I need to be either.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18
I recently shared a review of the Val Marie Paper Prayer Journal and I am still loving the journal. Here’s the thing, this journal has got me praying for things that I did not even think to pray about before. While I am using it regularly, I am still working on making it a habit to use it everyday. But, I have noticed a difference on the days when I reference it, vs just praying whatever comes to mind.
This journal helps me to remember the small things, or the promises of prayer that I have made to others. And while I love this journal, you do not need a fancy prayer journal to do this. All you need is a blank piece of paper to list out (and categorize) your prayers.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
I have read this verse several times, but I usually gravitate towards either the “thansgiving” part, or the “do not be anxious” part. When I read it again while writing this post, the “in every situation” part stood out for the first time.
God wants to hear from us. He wants to hear the good, the bad, the big, and the SMALL. This is the best way to strengthen our relationships with Him.
My hope is that by sharing this, not only will others start praying for the small, but that I can continue to see the value in praying for the small.
Val Marie Paper Prayer Journal In December, I came across a blog post about a prayer journal. I have tried several prayer and gratitude journals, but none of them ever seemed to stick. When I saw this layout, I had to try it! It comes in this nice, protective box. This will be nice after… Read More Review: Prayer Journal
Choosing a word of the year is an annual trend among goal setters, so it is only natural that during my goal setting, I decided to choose a word for 2020. My friend, Naina and I were discussing potential 2020 word of the year options, when she suggested “share” for me. I liked the idea… Read More Word of the Year: 2020
