Yesterday, my sister, Bre turned 20! The quarantine has been tough on all of us, so my mother and I wanted to make sure her birthday was extra special. We had a dinner with just our immediate family, but we went all out with the decor!
In this post, I am sharing what we did to make her birthday dinner extra special.
Letter Balloons: I originally planned to order number balloons, but it is incredibly difficult to find the number 2 balloon, so I ordered balloons that spelled out her name instead. HERE is the link for the letters that I ordered off amazon.
A balloon arch! I ordered the supplies for this off of Amazon. If you would like to get the same arch, you can find a link HERE! It was much easier to assemble than I anticipated, but it did take quite a bit of time to blow up all of the balloons. I ended up recruiting my little brother to help me and it still took us almost two hours! Totally worth it though.
Mother made cupcakes and the cake! Bre’s favorite (and mine too) is strawberry, so she made a strawberry cake with white icing and white cupcakes with strawberry icing.
The cake topper was also found on Amazon: LINK
Finally, I ordered some of those cute cookies that you always see on instagram. I just emailed my local bakery and told them that I wanted some “princess- birthday cookies” in pink and gold and gave them her name and age. I am linking the site to the bakery that I used, but you can use any bakery!
Overall, it turned out great and Bre was surprised! It definitely helped to brighten the mood during such a gloomy period of life.
Last night was the Super Bowl, so I decided to host a watch party. Because my guests and I were not particularly interested in the game itself, we called it a “halftime show watch party.” Really though, we were just looking for good food and good company! We had far more snacks than we needed,… Read More Wing Stop Charcuterie Board
Last night, I hosted some friends over for dinner. I was gifted a waffle maker for Christmas, so I was excited to use it. It seemed clear that the best direction would be to make a charcuterie board! I am obsessed with the trendy snack boards, so customizing it seemed fun. I am going to… Read More Breakfast Charcuterie Board
On Thursday night, I hosted a few friends for a Christmas dinner! While my friends also brought sides and cookies, these are the dishes I made. I always like to set out snacks for my guests to munch on as they are arriving and mingling. I had some Christmas candy in my pantry, so I… Read More Blogmas Day 7: Hosting a Christmas Dinner
